Belo Essentials DermWhite Plus Whitening

Lotion Review

I’ve recently been using Likas Papaya Soap to help me get rid of tan lines from tanning/going to Water Theme Parks and when I visited the local Filipino Store, I found that they sold Belo Essentials Whitening Lotion with SPF 15. I thought I’d try it out!

I’ve never seen a review done on the Lotion before so I thought I’d write one ^_^ Also, I didn’t think that it would work, so I decided to take photos for my own benefit to see if it was worth it! I didn’t want to show anyone since I have ridiculously hairy arms, but I see so many people asking about a review, so here it is.
There are 2 different Lotions you can get: Blue (plain Whitening Lotion) or Pink (Whitening + SPF 15). I bought the Pink one since it will eliminate me using Sunscreen! - I used to use SPF 45+ Sunscreen but flagged it after. Besides, Summer in Australia is finally over! \o/
It smells so good and it makes your skin feel very soft. It does feel a little oily, but that goes away after a few minutes. My arms are less scaly now :)
This was my skin colour before I started using Belo Essentials Whitening Lotion with SPF 15. I took the photos on the same day of the week (monday), in the same location (in my car, on my way to work while stuck in peak hour traffic lol, no flash or brighteness adjustments).

I use Belo Essentials Whitening Lotion with SPF 15 in the morning after I shower, before and after I’m exposed to sunlight and before I go to bed.
After one week of using Belo Essentials Whitening Lotion with SPF 15. It’s starting to work! it was able to get rid of my yellow tone and brighten it to a more pinkish tone.
Two weeks after using Belo Essentials Whitening Lotion with SPF 15, I see that my skin is still getting paler.
Three weeks after using Belo Essentials Whitening Lotion with SPF 15. It’s such a drastic change! I have a feeling that the lighting (the fact that there wasn’t much yellow shining from the sun) may have contributed so I decided to wait for the following week to see if the lighting made a difference.
Four weeks after using Belo Essentials Whitening Lotion! We’ve been having cloudy days in Sydney lately so I guess the lighting again contributed to how light my skin looks… or maybe it really has gotten paler! - I do know that the Yellow tint from the sun usually give it a more yellow/light tan.
The bottle lasted me just a little over a month!
I still have a Bikini Tan Line so I know this isn’t the lightest my skin can go. I’m going to continually use this till I get the results I want ^_^ I just want an even skin tone all over. I’ve been wearing a bracelet on my arm for the past 8 years and underneath it shows my true skin tone. I’ll eventually get that!

Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion Review

Hello there :)

Today's review is about a brand that is widely recommended bydermatologists
I got to try out this cream during summer so I can comment on the effectiveness of this lotion now.
This lotion is white in colour and rather thick to be called a lotion. More like a cream. I can see myself carrying it around to places where I would experience dry, stretchy skin and instantly want it back to condition.

It is a great moisturiser though it is quite thick and goopy for my taste. I don't particularly like applying this to my skin but once applied I really like what it does to it. It really blends in and gets soaked up but I use very little product. I think if you use a bit more, it will make your skin greasy very soon.

It is not recommended during the humid summer months unless you are in an air conditioned environment. It has this weird smell, I won't be able to describe it. Almost medicinal, perhaps. I have trouble with sickly sweet smells but this I could bear. I prefer it being fragrance free.

I had used an expensive olay cream couple of years ago which had macadmia nut oil in it, I think it smelt the same way and felt as rich as this lotion too. This product also contains macadmia nut oil. I think I like anything with macadmia nut oil when it comes to wanting heavy duty skin supplementing.

I would definitely pick this up if I were you. At 225Rs. for 100ml it is a good buy.
Give it a go if you have really dry skin or otherwise too if you require moisturing.

Ok, that’s it boys. You may now stop reading. Haha!
To the girls, here’s a little something I can share about in terms of the digiperm products that I use. I’ll try to be as helpful as I can since I’m not too keen on writing long posts or reviewing beauty products.
Remember I had my hair curled a few months back? Well, when I started I immediately consulted my girlfriends who already had their hair permed. One of them is Kea who happens to have tried a lot more products than me. She advised me to always get the product with the ‘curl defining’ label on it. Check out her keamistry blog for more detailed product reviews.
If you’re a lazy person like me who doesn’t exactly take super duper care of their hair, then read on. Just to put things in context, my hair is super thick, already damaged and is naturally wavy aka buhaghag. I initially wanted big curls but the salon people discouraged me from it so I had the small ones. But as time passed, the curls have become larger (as the salon people warned) and I absolutely love it. Makes me feel as if I have long wavy, sexy beach waves. Haha! Plus, the hairstylist told me not to use mousse or oil based products since it will way my crown down but there’s not a lot of other products so I gave mousses a go. I also find that if my hair looks wet and is kinda ‘hard,’ it’s more manageable for me.
What I do: Starting in the bath, while putting on conditioner, I run my hands through my hair to untangle it (because having curly hair for me is more prone to tangles and icky falling hair). After washing my hair, I wrap it in a towel and leave it on while doing other stuff like slathering on lotion. By the time I’m done with that, my hair is not as wet so I continue on putting curl defining gunk on my hair.

The first product I tried was the Monea Curl Defining Milk. This was out of desperation since I was Malaysia bound then (wherein I later on bought the last product on the photo above) and did not have a clue on what to do with my new hair. Here’s the funny thing about this product. When used alone, it does nothing to my hair but when paired with another product, it helps in defining my curls! Actually, I’ve found that ALL the products I’ve tried don’t work the way I want them to if used alone so what I normally do is put the Monea Lotion + another curl defining product.

What I like: smells good, feels like lotion, does not feel sticky on my hair and hands, affordable at P99, easily available at Watson’s & SM Dept. Stores
What I don’t like: comes in a bottle wherein I prefer it to be in a tub for easier application, wish it came in a bigger packaging
Next item I bought was the FX Curls up mousse. I was initially attracted to it because of the packaging, so chic! But this works for me too since it’s somewhat water-based I think. The mousse that comes out of it isn’t as heavy as the normal mousse. It’s more of like a foam which is good for my hair. It’s not as heavy on my tresses. Plus, if you like the super wet look look, then this is for you.
20120914-213245.jpg
What I like: affordable at P299, no smell, cute packaging, comes in a plastic pump which is more Eco-friendly than aerosols (though it’s plastic), doesn’t feel sticky on hair or hand, gives a wet look, very light on hair
What I don’t like: I feel that I need to pump a lot of product for my thick hair meaning I use the product quickly (I think I initially used one bottle in more or less 2 weeks), not easily available in all Watson’s & SM Dept. Stores (bought this at Megamall)
Next is the Finesse Curl Defining Mousse. I’m currently wracking my brains for something to share about this but I guess there’s nothing special about this one. Oh, the mousse is thick like any normal mousse.
20120914-213642.jpg
What I like: affordable at P329, easily available at Watson’s & SM Dept. Stores
What I don’t like: there’s nothing special about it. Haha!
Next up is probably the most common product in the market – the Salon styling mousse. I usually use this for non-special days aka staying at home just so I can maintain my waves.
20120914-213654.jpg
What I like: super affordable at P129 for the smaller can (price varies in SM though), easily available at Watson’s, SM Dept. Stores and most super grocery stores!
What I don’t like: Doesn’t smell good (it’s not bad just that it has a smell that reminds me of chemicals, but not too much), hate the way my hands feel icky after putting on the product
Last product I’ve tried as of press time (naks!) is the FX curls up gel. I saw this already when I bought the first FX product but decided not to get it yet (plus there’s another product I wanted to try from the same line which comes in a spray). Sounds weird that it’s a gel and yes, it kinda is. Feels very sticky on my palms. I’ve found that when used alone, it gives my waves a natural, soft bounce.
What I like: smells so nice, cute packaging, affordable at P299
What I dont like: kinda hard to squeeze out the product, I feel I need to use a lot for my hair, not easily available in all Watson’s & SM Dept. Stores (bought this at Megamall)

There you have it. A round up of products for digitally permed hair for lazy people like me. I’ll probably try more new products but if you ask me, I’d buy the FX curls up mousse again. Kinda makes me question the ‘reputation’ of having curly hair being more low maintenance than having straight hair. Maybe because we don’t need to ‘brush’ our hair anymore. Still, a lot of work (and gunk) are being put into having those perfect wavy tresses.

’m back with yet another Hada Labo review~♪ Finally bring myself to review them. Apologize for dragging this for so long already. Gomen!
Today I will be reviewing TWO of Hada Labo’s top selling lotions: Hada Labo Super Hyaluric Acid Moisturizing Lotion which has record of one sold every 4 seconds AND Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Lotionthe number 1 top selling whitening lotion in Japan!
Jyan~~ Both my Hada Labo lotions ✶ฺ.ヽ(*´∀`*)ノ✶゚ฺ
Hada Labo lotions <3
It’s been over 6 months since I’ve started using them along with other Hada Labo’s products_ the cleanser, moisturizing lotion, BB cream and makeup remover.
Yeapie~ Tried almost all of the Hada Labo products already! I love most of them but find daily usage of the cleanser kinda breaks my skin. You can read my review I wrote previously in this link TamagoHada’s AHA+BHA cleanser and if you want, here’s another review on Hada Labo’s Air BB Cream (・∀・)
Let’s get started!

Hada Labo Super Hyaluric Acid Moisturizing Lotion

2013-06-16 17.01.19
The key ingredient for this moisturizing lotion lies in an ingredient called the ‘Super Hyaluronic Acid‘ that boosts moisture retention.
Below are snapshots taken from Hada Labo’s webpage depicting the moisture locking mechanism to give you a clearer idea on how these amazing ingredient works.
Plus the newly improved formula has not one, but THREE types of Hyaluronic Acid!
Each targets the skin in different level,  with the new Nano Hyaluronic Acid to penetrate deep into the skin “leaving it hydrated inside out”.
And now here’s how the moisturizing lotion looks like ↓
2013-06-16 17.08.47-3
It’s a colorless liquid with thick consistency that becomes slightly sticky when apply. To use, pour some on the palm of your hand and spread it all over the face. Then slap it all over your face for even application.
I find it takes a lot of slapping in for the lotion to be absorbed. Some reviews I read advise to use just a small drop or two for faster absorption though I don’t mind to just take my time and let the lotion works its magic ( ⌒o⌒)~♪

Hada Labo Arbuting Whitening Lotion
2013-06-16 17.02.12
The key ingredient for this whitening lotion, besides the Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C is the ingredient called ‘Arbutin’ that helps fight off dark spots.
Here’s the illustration on how Arbutin works:
Hada Labo Arbutin ingredient
The whitening lotion_a milky white lotion which feels much ‘lighter’ and has a faster absorption rate compare to the moisturizing lotion ↓ Application method same as the moisturizing lotion one, btw!
2013-06-16 17.05.44-3
Both lotions are available at Watsons and Guardian. At RM45.90 per bottle, it is affordable because of the generous amount that can last you for months! I’ve read reviews saying this lotion lasts up to 6 months but for me, I think it’ll take at most 3-4 months to finish a single bottle.
Mine lasted a little bit longerlah since I’ve used them alternately, though the whitening lotion less frequently these days for fear of further breakouts… I’m still in the middle of trying to get rid of pimples and scars from my recent one…(;へ:)
That aside, the moisturizing lotion is my favorite among the two and I somewhat like the bouncy-feely feeling from patting the lotion onto the face ❤
